About Spanish Nomad

Hi, I’m Patri — a lifelong traveller and advocate for sustainable travel. Originally from sunny Southern Spain, my journey began with a deep curiosity for the world and a love for connecting with people across cultures.

From Andalucía to a life of global exploration

At 28, I left Spain to join my now husband, whom I met during an unforgettable road trip in Australia. Since then, I’ve embraced a nomadic lifestyle — calling Australia, the USA, Mongolia, and Mexico home. Living abroad has its challenges, but it has gifted me the chance to immerse myself in diverse cultures, learn from local communities, and see firsthand how travel shapes the world we share.

Why sustainable travel matters to me

While exploring different countries, I realised how much our travel choices impact the environment and the people we meet. That awareness sparked my passion for sustainability — from choosing eco-friendly travel essentials to staying in responsible accommodations that support local economies. I noticed how hard it can be to find clear, trustworthy information for responsible travellers like us. So, I created Spanish Nomad to share practical tips, stories, and destination guides that make sustainable travel achievable and inspiring.

My travel philosophy

I believe in the collective power of small, imperfect actions — that it’s better to have many people doing sustainability imperfectly than a few doing it flawlessly. Through conscious travel, we can reduce our carbon footprint, support ethical tourism, and help preserve the beauty and diversity of the planet.

Join me on this journey

Through Spanish Nomad, I invite you to explore meaningful destinations, discover new perspectives, and make a positive impact with every trip you take. Together, we can travel more responsibly, one mindful journey at a time.
